The Future of Payments. As heavily implied in the title of this challenge; it frames the process of 'paying', as a 'future' process. But being future oriented, it easily draws parallels to design fiction and speculative design. As designing for futures opens up the method used to make a certified guess and question; as whom the design is designed for and with (for users, with users etc.); and by 'creating' technology that is not existing today as a base for one's design. However, one can also try and 'find' the next method of payment, by looking at the current payment systems etc. and see why they became 'the next' thing and more. Moreover, one can question how payment will happen, and ask if it will be tangible etc. with a focus on the technology it will be used in collaboration with. One could also ask towards radical change as mobile pay and nfc, and swipp credit cards can be argued as, and again, asking the consequences of this suggested method.
The Economy Experience: First, this text will use notes and thoughts from the Danske Bank presentation; as to budgets etc. being to obscure for the users. Then this design challenge, easily provide a starting point, as to a current relevant problem, to base one's research upon. More generally, this design challenge seems, at this stage, to be a lot about the experience associated with the current processes, and by that it would be easy to include user experience, affordance etc. by that including the users in the design process through workshops etc. But a different approach, could be to ask, when user experience etc. makes something more obscure, through the many layers of interfaces, codes etc. Therefore, asking what the tradeoffs will be to improve this process (eventually making it automatic etc.).
The Social Economy: The last design challenge, which is probably the furthest from the association of Banks, provides one with many different aspects to how the bank can be incorporated. However, making a strong argument in the link of bank and sharing, can seem challenging, as a 'bank' is not typically associated with 'sharing' etc. And one most likely, should make an extensive research to find a way to approach this challenge. Some ways, could be to research what sharing is, and how it differs from the bank, by also researching how the bank operates.
A way of approaching this challenge, could be done by researching what is 'social economy'; How it has evolved in our society, historically, looking at startups, failures etc. to see how different domains approach it. Doing that, might enable the designer, to find a vision, or a situation to which the designer wants to include Dansk Bank into.
